Cyprus drops nine places in 2026 Global Peace Index

Cyprus fell nine places to 80th in the 2026 Global Peace Index, with a score of 1.967, as global peace deteriorated for the 12th consecutive year.

The index, compiled by the Institute for Economics & Peace, ranks 163 countries across 23 indicators including military spending, armed conflict, crime rates, homicide rates and citizens’ sense of security. Ninety-nine countries recorded worse scores than in the previous year....
