Worker critically injured in Strovolos occupational accident after air conditioning compressor explodes

A 49-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital after an air conditioning compressor exploded while he was repairing it in Strovolos, Nicosia, police said.

The incident occurred at around 5:30 p.m. on Friday while the worker was performing external repairs on a building’s air conditioning unit. The compressor exploded under circumstances that are currently being investigated by both the police and the Department of Labour Inspection....
