Timur Turlov announces he will run for position of FIDE president

Timur Turlov, CEO of Freedom Holding Corp. and President of the Kazakhstan Chess Federation, has announced that he will run for president of the International Chess Federation (FIDE). The leadership elections will take place on September 26 and 27, 2026 in Samarkand, during the organisation’s General Assembly and alongside the 46th World Chess Olympiad.
