Taxi smugglers caught trying to dodge SBA customs checks

Sovereign Base Areas (SBA) Customs and Immigration has seized 17,500 cigarettes, 21 kilograms of rolling tobacco and 5,500 e-cigarettes since July 1, issuing close to €11,000 in fines.

According to a press release by the SBA administration, the seizures came as 115,000 vehicles passed through SBA crossing points over the same period, with 50 Customs staff running checks around the clock, according to the SBA....
