Nursing students to be able to study before National Guard service

Cyprus’s Health Ministry plans to promote the option for young men to complete a Nursing degree before doing their military service, as part of efforts to attract more people into the profession.

Health Minister Neophytos Charalambides, speaking on state radio, said that after contact with the Defence Ministry, it emerged this option is already available under existing legislation. A young man will therefore be able to complete his Nursing studies first and then serve in the National Guard....
