Moonless skies set to boost Perseid meteor shower over Cyprus

This year’s Perseid meteor shower will reach its peak on August 12 and 13, with Cyprus benefiting from favourable observing conditions as a moonless sky is expected to make the “shooting stars” more visible.
Astrophysicist Chrysanthos Fakas said the shower has been under way since July 17 and will continue until August 24, with the best viewing days falling on Wednesday and Thursday, August 12 and 13, when the highest density of meteors is expected....
