Man attacks police officers with knife and paper cutter during arrest in Famagusta

Two police officers were injured yesterday afternoon when a 29-year-old man attacked them with a knife and a paper cutter during an arrest in a Famagusta district village.

Officers from the Xylofagou and Xylotymbou police stations deployed to the village at around 5:30 p.m. to track down the 29-year-old suspect. The man was wanted under an outstanding arrest warrant for failing to appear in court for ongoing cases....
