Hi-tech justice: now with a live connection… to a prison

Cyprus’s media pack, out covering the trial of the 30-year-old father accused of negligence over the deaths of his two children in Xylofagou, got a front-row seat to something rather different: a court case run less like a trial and more like a broadcast.
The hearing is taking place at Dhekelia Court. Except at the last sitting, on 29 July, “taking place” is doing a lot of heavy lifting, because the only human being actually in the room was the prosecutor....
