CY-Alert island-wide system test on June 15 — what to expect

An island-wide test of the CY-Alert emergency notification system will take place today, Monday, June 15, between 2:30pm and 3:30pm. There is no real danger — this is a scheduled system test.

Citizens may receive a test notification on their mobile phones at the abduction/missing person alert level. The notification will not be accompanied by the system’s characteristic loud tone, to avoid causing alarm, and will display the text “TEST – TEST – TEST” or “EXERCISE – EXERCISE – EXERCISE.”...
