Confidence measures not a precondition for Cyprus talks, sources say

Confidence-Building Measures, including the opening of new crossing points, are not a precondition for convening the next expanded 5+1 conference on the Cyprus problem, government sources said. The clarification came in response to criticism voiced after UN Secretary-General António Guterres’s recent visit to Cyprus.
