Code yellow and National Heat Plan in effect across the Netherlands due to intense heat

The Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (Koninklijk Nederlands Meteorologisch Instituut, KNMI) issued a yellow alert for the entire country, except for the Wadden Islands, as it is set to get increasingly warmer in the coming days. The KNMI states that there is a chance of persistently warm weather, with high humidity and higher night temperatures. The National Heat Plan is also in effect nationwide.
