Artificial intelligence has made up its mind about women. Kitchen. Nursery. Nothing more.

That’s not hyperbole, it’s what a 2024 UNESCO study found after picking apart 133 AI systems. Nearly half, 44%, showed clear gender bias, slotting women into domestic roles four times more often than men. Feed the machine a woman’s name and it reaches for “family” and “children”.
