20-year-old alleges threats, beatings in prison

A 20-year-old on trial for arson and participation in a criminal organisation raised serious complaints about his conditions of detention at Central Prison before Limassol Criminal Court yesterday.

He asked to be either moved to another wing or released, saying he faces threats and attacks from fellow inmates. Two other people are charged in the same case, one of whom is already a convicted Central Prison inmate....
